Opened in June 2022, QT Newcastle has quickly become one of the best luxury boutique hotels in the coastal city. Located on the eastern side of the city, the 4-star hotel is situated inside the iconic David Jones building, which has a long-standing history of over 110 years. The elegant white and brown facade is entirely preserved, while the interior underwent a major transformation to elevate the staying experience.
The Design

Led by Australian design studio Nic Graham & Associates, QT Newcastle brings an eclectic contemporary charm to the historic building. The interior design is heavily inspired by a modern industrial aesthetic. Built upon the black walls and brick flooring, you will find quirky furniture, bold decors, and bespoke artwork. The design studio has partnered with Sydney gallery Curatorial+Co in to showcase different contemporary artwork by local artists. You will also discover different references to the moon, particularly around the lighting and decors.
The Rooms

QT Newcastle currently offers 104 well-appointed guest rooms and suites. Much like the communal areas, you will find a chic urban industrial theme with a variety of materials and colours being incorporated. The vibrant rugs, velvet seating, and black brass decor all come together beautifully to create this eclectic room.
Each room features intricate & textured furnishing, premium bedding, ceramic & marble tiled bathroom, a TV, a minibar, complimentary internet access, and more. Besides, multiple pet-friendly rooms are also available upon inquiry.
Amenities & Dining

Just like its design, the culinary experience at QT Newcastle is spectacular. Led by executive chef Shayne Mansfield, Jana Restaurant & Bar on the ground floor is the hotel’s signature dining venue. You will find a contemporary Australian menu made from premium local produce. For drinks, Rooftop at QT is a lively and stylish bar that specializes in different gins and Japanese whiskeys. It also offers a succulent selection of light dishes such as sashimi and gyoza.
